Rebecca Carey staff portrait

Rebecca Carey is an educational researcher who designs and manages research studies, capacity-building initiatives, and knowledge utilization strategies for schools, districts, and states.

As deputy director of the Regional Educational Laboratory Northeast and Islands at EDC, Carey has focused on emerging models of online instruction, teacher professional development, and fostering researcher-practitioner partnerships. She has expertise with diverse forms of research and evaluation, including rigorous randomized controlled trials, and has published multiple studies for the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences. Carey is also the EDC-based project director for i3 Implementation Technical Assistance, which provides technical assistance to i3 grantees across the United States.

Carey received a BA from Vassar College and an EdM from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
